Affordable lunch on Lorong Datuk Sulaiman
By Tarik Bistro ·
Tarik Bistro is an everyday lunch option at 18G, Lorong Datuk Sulaiman 1, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A typical meal for two is RM40–60, with no service charge. The menu includes nasi goreng kampung, kari kambing, rendang and pan-seared fish alongside breakfast dishes. We open daily, 06:30–22:00. The Datuk Sulaiman shophouses have a mix of cafés and restaurants; our place is a neighbourhood table for Malaysian and Western food. Check individual prices and availability with the team when planning your meal.
A weekday table on the dining strip
Lorong Datuk Sulaiman is part of TTDI’s dining scene, with places such as Dough & Dolce and Gai among the businesses around the street. These are useful geographic references when describing the neighbourhood. Each restaurant has its own menu and approach. At Tarik Bistro, our focus is everyday Malaysian cooking and accessible Western plates.
The kitchen story comes from more than fifteen years of hotel and golf-club experience. The result is intended for regular meals: something you can come back to during an ordinary working week. You can read the About page for that background and the menu for the confirmed dishes currently published online.
Understanding the price guide
The restaurant’s typical meal-for-two range is RM40–60. There is no service charge. This helps set expectations for a casual visit, but it is not an advertised lunch set, a fixed bill or an offer tied to particular dishes. What you order and what is available will determine your meal.
Individual menu prices are published only when confirmed. If you are organising lunch within a particular budget, send the team your headcount and what you have in mind. We can discuss current choices directly. The website avoids filling gaps with old buffet prices or prices from a different restaurant with a similar name.
Deciding what to eat
Nasi goreng kampung is the wok-fried rice plate on the menu. Kari kambing is mutton curry, and rendang is another familiar local choice. Pan-seared fish is available among the Western plates. These short descriptions are a starting point; ask the team about today’s preparation, portions or ingredients before ordering.
If people in your group want different things, share the menu link before leaving the office. Each dish has its own anchor, so you can point directly to the plate you are discussing. For ingredient restrictions or allergies, contact the kitchen rather than relying on an illustration or assuming a dish can be modified.
Make room for the lunch break
If your break has a fixed end time, mention it when you arrive and ask what is practical. We do not publish guaranteed service times. A short call is also useful when several colleagues are planning to come together. Give us the date, time and expected headcount so that the team can discuss a table.
The bistro is open 06:30–22:00, with breakfast ending at 12:00. That distinction is helpful if your lunch starts early and someone is hoping for roti bakar or roti canai. Ask about availability near the changeover rather than assuming that every section runs for the whole day.
Getting to the right door
Find us at 18G, Lorong Datuk Sulaiman 1 in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Plenty of street parking. Our visit page has the full address and the official Google Maps pin, plus access and family information. Use the full destination when arranging a ride or meeting someone from outside the neighbourhood.
We are Tarik Bistro, a separate restaurant from Mee Tarik Jalan Sultan. If you are bringing a group, our enquiry page lets you include an occasion and any seating needs. A reply from the team confirms the arrangements. For another meal on another day, our breakfast guide covers an earlier start on the same street.
